Robbers loot house of UP Home secretary's sister

Robbers barged into the house of sister of Uttar Pradesh Home Secretary and looted at gunpoint jewellery worth Rs 2 lakhs and cash amounting to Rs 3 lakhs in Sarlabagh area here.

Six men entered the house of Shashikala Goyal, sister of Principal Secretary for Home Anil Gupta, when she opened the main gate early yesterday morning and held her hostage at gunpoint, police said today.

Hearing the commotion, her husband Sudhir Goyal, retired chief engineer of the railways, came to the room and the armed robbers held both of them hostage at gunpoint, police said.

After taking the keys of the lockers, the robbers decamped with jewellery and cash in the couple's Wagon R car, which was later found abandoned in Dayal Bagh area.
 

SSP Shalab Mathur said police teams had been formed to nab the robbers.
