The incident took place at Shahbad Diary area of outer Delhi in the wee hours and the guard was idenitified as Chandan Kumar Jha.
Jha was on duty at Rajiv Ratan Aavasiya Yojna in sector 3 of Bawana when the group broke into the construction site with an intention to steal iron.
When the guard resisted the robbery attempt, one of the robbers opened fire at him.
