Robbers who carried thefts in posh areas arrested

Two history-sheeters were arrested for allegedly carrying out robberies at posh localities here, police said today.

According to investigating officer Sukhjeet Singh, the Crime Branch officials yesterday arrested Rajesh alias Raju and Ravi alias Rahul, who targeted at least 20 houses in post localities such as south city, sector 40, 56 and areas surrounding to Sadar police station.

They were nabbed during a vehicle checking near Leisure Valley Park in sector 29 here, he said.

"Following interrogation, the accused admitted that they had watched the movie 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' a number of times and closely monitor the activities of its main character 'Bunty Chor' for carrying out robberies in the areas," Singh said.
 

Rajesh and Ravi were history-sheeters and they have served jail terms three times earlier, he said.

They used to roam in posh localities to identify locked houses and also noted daily routines of their occupants. The accused were cooked food during theft incidents without having fear of apprehension, he said.

The crime branch officers looking for another associate of this gang, who sold items through online sites.

Gurgaon police has recovered 10 LED, 5 LCD, jewelries, one Volkswagen Polo, Maruti WagorR, Hyundai Santro cars and an iron rod, used to break locks, from their possessions, he said.

An FIR was registered in this connection in Sector 29 police station and they were produced in Local Court today and taken into two days of police remand, he added.
