Most of the materials looted was also recovered, the sources said adding one person was arrested and four were detained during the day and another person arrested yesterday.
The dacoits, numbering 10 to 12, sailed up in three motorized boat to the railway bridge over the Matla river to connect Canning and Bhangonkhali and looted rods and plates valued at Rs five lakh.
Following interrogation of those arrested, the police found most of the materials immersed in a canal at Bhangonkhali and also seized one of the boats used in the robbery, the sources said.
