Robbery at factory owner's house

Three unidentified armed men today allegedly robbed the house of a medicine factory owner after holding his wife and daughter hostage in Sagarpur area of southwest Delhi.

The incident took place at around 12 noon, when the entrepreneur's wife, Karuna (30) and her two-year-old daughter were alone at home, police said.

The accused reached the house of Nirankar Sharma, who owns a medicine factory at Haryana's Bahadurgarh, and forced inside once the door was opened, said a police officials.

They allegedly pointed guns toward the women and her daughter and locked them inside the bathroom. Then they allegedly ransacked the house and went away with cash and jewellery after breaking open the locker, said the official.
 

The robbers had also tied Karuna and her daughter and stuck duct-tapes on their mouths. The incident came to light when they managed to go near the ventilator in the washroom and grab the attention of a passer-by, said the official.

The police have registered a case and investigation is underway, the official added.
