Robbery at house of former deputy speaker of AP Assembly

Two masked persons broke into the house of former deputy speaker of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly A V Suryanarayana Raju at Chintapalli village in East Godavari district and robbed him, police said.

The incident took place yesterday, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Prasanna Kumar.

"Two men, wearing masks, entered Raju's residence at 2 am yesterday night when he and his wife were sleeping. Threatening the couple with a knife, they looted gold jewellery and some cash before fleeing," he said.

Further probe is on, the officer said.
