Robbery in advocate's house, gold and silver stolen

Thieves broke in the house of an advocate in Dwarikapuri-Sanjay Colony here and fled with cash, gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh, police said today.

About 800 gm gold, 2 kg of silver and Rs 3 lakh in cash were missing from the house of advocate Anurag who had gone on a tour with family members, said Nathulal, SHO Shashtrinagar police station.

A theft case has been registered and a search is on across the city to nab the criminals, he said.

Meanwhile, one person was caught stealing a car in the Ramnagar area here and was badly thrashed by locals.
 

Aslam, aged around 24 years, had started a car parked outside a house in Shiv Colony late last night when locals stopped him and beat him up before informing the police.

The youth was admitted to SMS government hospital for treatment and a case has been registered against him for lifting vehicles.
