Refined soya oil prices traded marginally up by 0.07 per cent to Rs 725.65 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick-up in demand at domestic spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in January was trading higher by 50 paise, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 725.65 per 10 kg with an open interest of 41,260 lots.
On similar lines, the oil for delivery in December edged up by 20 paise, or 0.03 per cent, to Rs 716.30 per 10 kg in 2,490 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to uptick in demand in the physical market against tight stocks position on fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly led to a rise in refined oil prices at futures trade.
