Refined soya oil prices traded higher by 0.32 per cent to Rs 740 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand at the domestic spot market against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in September rose by Rs 2.34, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 740 per 10 kg with an open interest of 32,630 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in August advanced by 90 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 743.25 per 10 kg in 35,620 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to uptick in demand at the spot market against restricted supplies from producing belts mainly attributed the rise in refined soya oil prices in futures trade.
