Press Trust of India New Delhi
Turmeric prices moved up by 2.48 per cent to Rs 7,100 per quintal in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions, driven by pick-up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in December was trading higher by Rs 172, or 2.48 per cent, to Rs 7,100 per quintal with an open interest of 140 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions created by traders following surge in demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly influenced turmeric prices at futures trade.
