A day after his arrest by CBI on bribery charge, Registrar of Companies M Manu Neethi Cholan was today remanded in a day's judicial custody by a court here.
Additional Judge of special court for CBI cases J Krishnamoorthy passed the order when CBI officials produced Cholan before him.
CBI had filed an application seeking seven days custody of the accused while the latter filed a bail petition.

The judge said both the petitions will be heard tomorrow since counter-petition had to be filed and sent the accused to a day's judicial custody in Puzhal Central Prison here.
Cholan was arrested yesterday by CBI for allegedly demanding and accepting Rs 10 lakh as illegal gratification from noted industrialist M A M Ramaswami to declare null and void resolutions that may be passed at his Chettinadu Group of Companies' Annual General Meeting here today.
Besides the Rs 10 lakh, "incriminating" documents and a computer hard disc were seized from Cholan. Also, an amount of Rs 20 lakh was seized from Cholan's house.
