US-based Rockwell Automation is focusing on expanding its footprint in some of the world's biggest emerging markets like India.

"Rising awareness of automation benefits in manufacturing shows a lot of scope," Rockwell Automation India Managing Director Dilip Sawhney told reporters here.

Stating that the penetration of automation in manufacturing was low, he said: "This leaves vast potential for industry to adopt automation for increasing productivity, improving decision-making, quality, and innovating processes."

In the light of the government's 'Make in India' initiative, manufacturing will get a boost, thus giving scope for more adoption of automation in manufacturing for industry to remain competitive, he added.

Rockwell Automation also announced its partnership with Microsoft and Cisco for joint solution development and integrated solutions and services.

It said these collaborative efforts shall result in better asset optimisation and broader risk management for industrial companies.

Rockwell Automation employs over 20,000 professionals globally. Of this, almost 1,000 are based out of India, the company said.
