The doctors of Post-graduate Institute of Dental Sciences have recently performed the surgery on 19-year-old Krishan Kumar, hailing from Jhajjar town who is currently recuperating at the hospital, a hospital spokesman said.
Virendra Singh, Head of Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, said the teenager was admitted in PGIDS in July. His hearing was impaired due to swelling of the nerve just behind his jaw, partially extending into his brain.
A little traction of injury to that area would have proved fatal for the patient, he said, adding that the operation took seven hours.
