Romance was in the air as malls, restaurants and popular hangout zones in the city soaked in the colour red with the young and old displaying their affection for their loved ones in many ways on Valentine's Day today, unfazed by antics of those who oppose it.
The weekend saw cupid-struck couples roaming on the streets, exchanging gifts, roses and thronging cinema halls etc.
Red, the colour of love, was the theme at many restaurants and joints which had made special arrangements for youngsters, who were seen making a beeline in front of these outlets.

The price of roses, especially the red ones shot up as florists raked in the moolah due to the high demand.
"The roses which are usually available for Rs 20 per stick were being sold at over Rs 100 today," said Kritika Magoo, a lawyer by profession.
Police had made elaborate security arrangements to ensure an incident-free celebration and thwart any attempt of moral policing in the city by Right-wing outfits.
Although no major incident was reported from any part of the city, more than 200 students were detained by the police when they tried to stage a protest outside the office of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha which had allegedly threatened to marry off couples if they indulged in public display of love on Valentine's Day.
Some leading online portals like Snapdeal, Fashion and You, Jabong, Myntra were offering deals on clothes, jewellery, cosmetics and shoes, keeping couples in mind.
Taxi service provider Uber was also offering a chopper service in Delhi to give joy rides to love birds. Priced at Rs 5,000 per couple, the deal included a 20 minute chopper ride on the skies of the city and a pool side meal.
