A Romanian national was apprehended at the Indira Gandhi International Airport(IGIA) here today for allegedly entering the sensitive facility using a fake e-ticket to see off his wife.

Officials said the incident was reported at about 4:30 AM at the terminal-III when CISF officials detected the suspicious movements of the man, identified as A Simonfi, when he was trying to leave the airport.

"The Romanian later told officials that he had used a cancelled e-ticket to enter the airport to see off his Hungarian wife who was travelling to Istanbul," they said.

"He was handed over to Delhi Police as entering the high-security and sensitive airport on invalid documents is an offence," the officials said.
