Reinventing the Shakespearean epic in the present day lingo, Romeo vs Juliet is built on facebook 'chat and spat' of two souls having not met each other previously, the celluloid 'Romeo' Ankush, a rising Tollywood star says.
"Romeo vs Juliet are the present day incarnations of the feudal era creations of the 'Bard of Avon' centering on the kingdoms of Mercutio and Paris and here is a tale of two commoners from faraway corners in globe, the blockbuster 'Khiladi' actor told PTI here.
"And here they don't either converse through letter unlike the yesteryear couples or e-mail. This practice has now come to be replaced by whatsapp and fb chat," he said.

The hardcore masala flick, having songs l;ike 'facebook chhobi dekhe preme porechhi' (I fell in your love after seeing your pic in facebook), will be released on Saraswati Puja day on January 25.
Director Ashok Pati said about the flick, produced by Eskay Movies, there is a strong underlying message of girls matching boys step by step today.
"As the title suggests that present day women can't be considered as also-runs in any sphere. So it is not Romeo and Juliet but Romeo Vs Juliet where the girl can also confront the hero."
Ankush, the Kanamachhi actor, having done five films with the same production house on trot, avers of having evolved as an actor in all these years.
"I am grateful to popular heroines who had 'tolerated' me at my early phase. And here I am pitted opposite Mahi, a popular name in Bangladesh, who is my 'on-screen' Juliet," he quipped.
