Ronit knocks out top seed Vijay Sundar Prashanth

Ronit Singh Bisht shocked top seed Vijay Sundar Prashanth en route to the quarterfinals of the USD 10,000 ITF Men's Futures tournament, here today.

Second seed Sriram Balaji and the third seed Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan disposed their younger inexperienced opponents Nitin Kumar Sinha and Nikki Poonacha in straight sets respectively.

Sixth seed VM Ranjeet on the other hand lost the first set against Suraj Prabodh and then lifted his game to win the next two sets for the loss of only one game.

In a match of two big stroke makers Prajnesh Gunneswaran edged past Mohit Mayur 6-4, 7-5.

Sumit Nagal continued his fluent run when he outplayed eighth seed Vinak Sharma Kaza in two easy sets. Sidharth Rawat got the better of P.C. Vignesh in straight sets, while S D Prajwal Dev outlasted Isa Mammetgulyyev in three sets to complete the quarterfinal line up.
 

In the quarterfinals tomorrow, Ronit plays Sidharth Rawat while Jeevan will take on Prajnesh. Sumit Nagal will clash with Balaji and Ranjeet will fight it out with Prajwal.
