Tamil Nadu and Karnataka Governor K Rosaiah today expressed grief over the death of 11 workers in a wall collapse at Upparapalayam in Tiruvallur District.

"I am deeply shocked and grieved to hear the tragic accident in which 11 workers lost their lives in wall collapse and some were injured," Rosaiah said, conveying his condolences to the bereaved family members.

He wished the injured a speedy recovery.

DMK president M Karunanidhi also condoled the deaths and hit out at the AIADMK regime for the 'frequent' mishaps.

PMK chief Ramadoss alleged that the mishap occurred only due to "non-prevention of violation of norms" in the construction of the "16-ft high and 250 metres length wall which had no pillars." The PMK leader expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.

The incident occurred eight days after an 11-storeyed building crashed at Porur, claiming 61 lives.
