Rose petals to be showered from sky on Tendulkar while batting

From a tableaux being fabricated to showering of 199kg rose petals from the sky, the Cricket Association of Bengal today revealed their grand plans to make Sachin Tendulkar's penultimate Test at the Eden Gardens here next month a truly special affair.

Tendulkar will also be given a state felicitation by the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after the India vs West Indies opening Test concludes on November 10, CAB joint secretary Subir Ganguly told reporters today.

Starting from November 3 when a special tableaux will make rounds of the Kolkata streets, the CAB will begin their special events in honour of Tendulkar.
 

In next two days ahead of the November 6-10 Test, the CAB will host dinner for the senior batsman alongwith legendary Windies batsman Viv Richards and Aussie spin wizard Shane Warne, Ganguly said.

To make the Test more special for the lucky 70,000 Eden crowd, the CAB will distribute a special collectors' edition book of about 45 pages to all the spectators.

From the day the match starts, the CAB would distribute Tendulkar masks and display cut outs during the five days.

Finally, the CAB will conclude their series of grand felicitation of Tendulkar by showering 199kg rose petals from private aircrafts when the maestro bats in the second Innings of his 199th Test.

The Eden Gardens has already decked up with Tendulkar cut outs as the majestic stadium was getting ready for yet another milestone when it host the opening Test in Tendulkar's farewell series against the West Indies.

The CAB also has plans to display various moods of Tendulkar through about hundreds large cut outs which would be put up at various places like police kiosks and floodlight towers.
