RPF rescues minor girl from Uttar Pradesh

The Railway Protection Force of the Eastern Railway today rescued a minor girl from Uttar Pradesh's Pratapgarh district wandering aimlessly at the Kolkata Terminal station.

While on special patrol duty the RPF, Eastern Railway detected a minor girl, around 15-year-old, moving aimlessly at the washing pit at the Kolkata Terminal station, a release issued by the Eastern Railway said.

The girl was taken to RPF custody and after a brief interrogation it was found that she mistakenly arrived at Kolkata Terminal by an unknown train from Pratapgarh in UP.

The RPF has handed over the minor girl to Child Line, CINI Urban Unit, Kolkata and her parents have also been informed, the release said.
