RPF returns unclaimed bag with Rs 93,000 to owner

Railway Protection Force (RPF) today returned an unclaimed bag containing Rs 93,000 and other valuables to its owner.

According to Northern Railway, RPF constable Phool Kunwar found an unclaimed bag on Jind-Delhi passenger train at Old Delhi station during the checking and informed the duty officer about it. The bag was containing Rs 93,000 cash and other valuables.

The duty officer after checking the bag found a hotel booking receipt of Kolkata.

The owner of the bag, Satish Kumar, a resident of Jind in Haryana was located and after due verification, the cash and the bag was handed over him, said a senior Northern Railway official.
 

Delhi Divisional Railway Manager Arun Arora has issued an instruction for the RPF staff to remain vigilant on duty and assist rail users.
