RPI (E) United to contest on 20 seats in Assembly polls

Republican Party of India (E) Ektawadi United said here today that it will contest on least 20 seats in the upcoming state Assembly election to be held on October 15.

Party national president Gangaram Indise told reporters after the state executive meet of the party here that they have decided to contest from at least 20 seats on its own.

He said they will contest on eight seats in Thane, two in Mumbai, three in North Maharashtra, three in Marathwada, two in Vidharbha and on one seat in Konkan region.

On forming alliance, Indise said that they will join hands with like-minded people and will said they do not have any issues in seat sharing with the Shiv Sena.
 

"We are not untouchables to anyone. We do not have any issue in going with the Shiv Sena," he said.

He further said that the 'Modi wave' which swept the General elections this year, is fading and will not have the desired impact on the state assembly polls.
