RPO to hold spl passport mela on April 8

: The Regional Passport Office here would hold a special mela later this week in order to meet the large demand from public and facilitate submission of applications for frequent travellers.

Passport Seva Kendras at Saligramam, Tambaram and Aminjikarai in Chennai and Passport Seva Laghu Kendra in Puducherry would operate on April eight under the special passport mela, a PIB release said.

The offices would operate like a normal working day and accept applications as per time slots allotted to candidates.

"Approximately 2,500 applicants are expected to be benefitted from the mela", the release said.

The RPO has asked candidates to bring the applicant registration number with appointment details to the Passport Seva Kendras with the necessary documents on that day.
 

Fresh issue of passports and re-issue categories will be addressed during the Mela and those applications under Tatkal categories would not be accepted, the release added.
