RPower's Sasan plant achieves 100% Plant Load Factor in April

According to the statement, this is best-in-class performance among the large-size power stations in the Indian Power Sector

Reliance Power on Monday said its 4,000 Mw Sasan Power project achieved 100% plant load factor (PLF) in April this year.

"Sasan Power Ltd (SPL), during the month of April 2016, achieved Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 100%," Reliance Power said in a statement.

PLF is an indicator of capacity utilisation.

According to the statement, this is best-in-class performance among the large-size power stations in the Indian Power Sector, which benefits nearly 42 crore population served by seven procurer states of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand & Delhi.
 

During 2015-16, Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (SUMPP) achieved highest PLF of 90% among the comparable size power stations and produced 17 million tonnes coal, making it the highest coal producer among the private sector players.

The SUMPP, in Singrauli district of Madhya Pradesh, is one of the largest integrated power plants cum coal mining project at a single location in the world, with an investment of over Rs 27,000 crore.
