Gold bars and plates valued at Rs 1.30 crore have been seized from two Sri Lankans and cash of equal amount from seven passengers from Singapore at the international airport here by DRI officials.
Acting on a tip-off, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence officials keeping track of gold smuggling from Sri Lanka nabbed two nationals from that country here today, a DRI press release said.
Gold bars and plates and crude jewellery weighing 3.45 kg and worthRs 1.30 crore was seized from them, following which they were arrested.

The three Iqbal, Jahir Hussain and Ibramsa Maideen were arrested under Customs Act, 1962.
In the second incident, foreign currencies valued at Rs 34.89 lakh were seized from two passengers who arrived from Singapore here yesterday.
In the third incident, Rs 28 lakh of Indian currency was seized from two passengers who were about to board a flight to Kuala Lumpur from Chennai from here, the release said.
