Karnataka government has announced an 'Idea2POC' fund of Rs 10 crores for women entrepreneurs. Under the scheme, the Department of IT, BT and Science and Technology funds upto Rs 50 lakhs for any women innovator for Proof of Concept validation, certification, and covers costs in manufacturing of pilot devices.
On the occasion of International Women's Day yesterday, Minister of IT, BT and Tourism, Priyank M Kharge made the announcement at an event here, according to a release here. He said women empowerment means building their confidence level to face the world and to achieve their targets. The IT/BT Department has created the Idea2PoC Fund under the Multi-Sector Startup Policy which recognizes the gaps that exist in the startup eco-system and aims to cover them through strategic interventions.
The Minister also announced an open house for women entrepreneurs, where they will be able to put forward their issues and problems to the Government.
