'Rs 100 cr worth utensils to be distributed'

Punjab Rural Development and Panchayats department today said it has initiated the process for the procurement of utensils of worth Rs 100 crore.

Disclosing this, Sikandar Singh Maluka, Rural Development and Panchayat Minister said that these utensils would be distributed to the Panchayats, Mehila Mandals and Youth Clubs.

He said that SAD-BJP government, in its budget this year, had announced Rs 79 crore to distribute utensil sets across the state to Mahila Mandals, NGOs and clubs for use during social and community functions.

He said the government is committed to fulfill all its promises and working in this direction the tendering process for the procurement of utensils is complete.
 

Maluka said that now the process for the procurement of utensils is at an advanced stage and the government would distribute the utensils before the imposition of the election code.
