Rs 101 crore plan for Sindkhed Raja, Jijau's birthplace

A high-powered committee headed by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today approved development plan (DP) for Sindkhed Raja, the birthplace of Rajmata Jijau, King Shivaji's mother, in Buldhana district.

The plan will be implemented in two phases. Rs 25 crore would be spent in the first phase and Rs 76 crore in the second phase, the CM said after the meeting.

The plan includes restoration and conservation of Rajwada, Lahuji Jadhav Palace, Nilkantheshwar temple, Kalakot, etc.

Fadnavis asked the officials to immediately submit a detailed plan for water supply, underground sewage and solid waste management in the town.

The CM also sought a detailed plan for restoration and beautification of 19 lakes which date back to Shivaji's time.
 

He also directed the administration to immediately undertake cleanliness drive to preserve all the historical monuments in the state.
