A sum of Rs 11 lakh was stolen in two separate incidents in powerloom town of Bhiwandi, police said today.
In the first incident that occurred last morning, two persons stole Rs 10 lakh cash from cashier's cabin in Quarter Gate branch of the Mercantile Bank, they said.
In another incident, two persons allegedly diverted attention of complainant in another branch of the same bank and walked away with Rs 1,07,000 cash he was carrying, police said.
A case has been registered with Bhiwandi Town police station under various sections of IPC and the search is on for the accused, police added.
