: Banned tobacco products worth Rs 12 lakh were seized from a godown here by the food safety cell personnel
Based on a tip off that the roducts were being supplied from a godown in R S Puram locality ,the sleuths raided it and seized 3.5 tonnes of pan masala, gutka and other products, police said.
The worth of the seizure was estimated at about rs. 12 lakh, they said.
The godown owner would be penalised for stocking and selling the products, which are banned in Tamil Nadu, police added.
