: Local Administration Minister N G Panneerselvam today handed Rs 15,000 each to 15 poor families to enable them meet part of expenditure of celebration of marriages of girls in their families.
This formed part of welfare measures implemented by Department of Women and Child Development.
Panneerselvam said government was implementing a number of schemes for the betterment of the poorer sections and these have started making good impact on the amelioration of the socio economic conditions of the havenots.
