A sum of Rs 18.60 was looted in two separate incidents and two persons were injured here, police said today.
In the first incident, a paddy merchant Avdhesh Kumar, who was returning from Delhi in his car after selling the agricultural produce worth Rs 12.60 lakh, was waylaid and looted on the outskirts of the town here last evening by five motorcycle-borne men.
According to police, when Avdhesh resisted, the miscreants opened fire at him, injuring him and drove off in his car.

In the other incident, motorcycle-borne men attacked a cashier of a food grain merchant and escaped with Rs 6 lakh near Chhatari Area here.
Police said the criminals threw chilly powder and fired at him and drove away with his bag containing Rs.6 lakh.
The cashier, Prempal, who received injuries, was rushed to neighbouring Aligarh Medical College.
SSP Laxmi Singh said that the police has some leads in the two cases and assured that the accused will be nabbed soon.
