A court here today ordered payment of compensation of Rs 19.25 lakhs to the family of a man who was killed in a road accident in September last year near here.
Thanjavur Chief Judicial Magistrate Poornajayaanand passed the order directing the Oriental Insurance Company to pay Rs 19.25 lakh to the family of Aravindhan, a driver, who was killed after the two-wheeler he was riding was hit by a tractor near Srinivasanallur bypass.
The deceased's wife Sulochana (26), her three minor children and his parents sought a compensation of Rs 25 lakh in their Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal Original Petition.
