Rs 190 million Research Centre to come up in Thrissur

: A sub-centre of Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden Research Centre, the first of its kind in Kerala, would start functioning here from next month.

The Centre would be run with financial aid from Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation and 1.27 acres of land been acquired at Kuzhoor in the district for the purpose, an official release added.

In the first phase, research would be on natural fibres, plantain, pandamus leaf, vegetables and ornamental plants, while the second would see an industrial park over 100 acres being developed, as also several agriculture-development activities.

All projects in the industrial park would be environment friendly, the release said.
