Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu today said Rs 2,000 crore will be allocated for the welfare of disabled persons in the state in the coming four years.
Naidu, who attended a program here to mark the World Disabled Day, said Rs 200 crore had been allocated in the state budget for the disabled persons this year.
The pension for the disabled has been hiked to Rs 1,500 and nearly five lakh persons will benefit from this move, Naidu said.

A disabled home, a residential school for blind and commissionerate for the disabled would be set up in every district, he said.
Naidu also said that the new capital of the state would be disabled-friendly, with special tracks, ramps, lifts and other facilities.
The government is also taking steps to increase existing job quota of three per cent for the disabled, he added.
