Election authorities in Goa have said cash amount, liquor and narcotics worth more than Rs 2.80 crore were seized in the coastal state Wednesday.
The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), in a statement issued late Thursday evening, said Rs 2,31,70,630 in cash was seized, but did not provide details.
The same day liquor worth Rs 28.16 lakhand narcotics valued at Rs 31 lakhs were also seized, the statement.
The total seizure value for April 17 stood at Rs 2.81 crore, it said.
The office further informed that the value of seizures made since March 10, when the election code of came into force, stood at more than Rs 8.46 crore.
The elections for the two Lok Sabha seats in the state - North Goa and South Goa along with byelections in three assembly segments - Mandrem, Shiroda and Mapusa will be held on April 23.
