Rs 26 lakh looted from milk company employees

A group of five criminals used bombs and bullets to loot Rs 26 lakh from employees of a milk company at Kadamkuan area here today, City SP Jayantkant said.

Local people, however, chased and caught three of them.

Employees of Raj Milk Company, Shyam Sundar Singh and Bihari Paswan, were travelling with the cash in a car, when five persons fired and hurled bombs at the vehicle at Moharwali Gali locality.

Paswan, who was driving the car, suffered a bullet wound in his hand.

"As the vehicle screeched to a halt, the miscreants snatched the cash bag from them and fled from the spot. The public chased them and captured three," said Jayantkant.
 

The three identified as Rajkumar, Lalan and Mohammad Jafar were beaten up by the locals and handed over to the police.

Five bombs, two pistols and five bullets were recovered from them but the looted cash was not found, the SP said adding a manhunt was launched to arrest the remaining two.
