Unaccounted foreign currency worth Rs 28.5 lakh was seized from a Sharjah-bound woman passenger at the international airport here Thursday, officials said.
Foreign currency of 1,50,000 UAE Dirham was found in the hand baggage of the passenger when the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel checked it, they said.
As she could not produce any valid document for carrying the cash, the CISF personnel handed over her to the Customs for further questioning, officials added.
