Rs 28.98 lakh hawala money seized

Rs 28.98 lakh hawala money was seized from a man at the railway station here today, police said.

The notes were in the denomination of Rs 1000, Rs 500 and Rs 100, police said.

They said the man, hailing from Kannur district, claimed he had got the money after selling jewellery, but could not produce any documentary proof.

A PAN card and an ATM card were also seized from him, they said.
