Rs 3.92 lakh looted from Punjab ATM

Unidentified assailants looted Rs 3.92 lakh from an ATM of a cooperative bank at Naushehra Majja Singh in Gurdaspur district today, police said.

The incident took place in the wee hours today when some assailants entered the ATM kiosk and sprayed a chemical substance on the CCTV camera, they said.

The accused cut the cash cabin of the ATM with a gas cutter following which they looted Rs 3.92 lakh, police said, adding, the assailants remained inside the ATM cabin for about an hour.

A dog squad and finger print team was pressed into service, but no clue has been found so far, they said.
 

A case has been registered in this connection, they added.
