Banned tobacco products worth Rs 30 lakh were seized from a shop here on Sunday and two persons arrested in this connection, a police official said.
Based on a tip-off, a special team of policemen, led by a Deputy Commissioner Balaji Saravanan, raided the shop, effected the seizure and arrested the two.
In the last one month, banned tobacco products worth about Rs one crore have been seized and 30 cases registered after raids, the police said.
