"We have to ensure that the funds earmarked for speeding up the development of various backward areas are used judiciously and according to the set norms", Rural Development Minister Ali Mohammad Sagar said at a high level meeting convened under his chairmanship.
Asking the officers to speed up implementation of the scheme, the Minister wanted formulation of a mechanism for dovetailing the scheme with MGNERGA so that massive infrastructure can be created for changing the socio-economic landscape of rural and far flung areas of the state.
BRGF, a centrally sponsored scheme, has been launched in Poonch, Kupwara and erstwhile Doda districts to bridge critical infrastructure gaps and meet other developmental requirements that are not being adequately met through the existing inflows, he said.
