: Unacccounted money to the tune of Rs 4.14 lakh was seized by election department officials from a woman today during a vehicle check at Ramattinam, police said.
The flying squad found the amount with the woman when the vehicle was searched at the checkpost in that town, about 40 km from here.
The woman claimed that the money was meant for digging a borewell and for electric fencing on her farm on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border. However she did not have the proper documents to back up her police said.
She was told that the money would be kept with the Pollachi Sub-collector and that she could collect it after producing the neccesary papers, they said.
