Two trader-brothers were robbed of Rs 4.70 lakh by unknown persons who attacked them with chilli power and decamped with the bag carrying the cash, police said today.

The incident took place last night in the Market Area here. The victims, Murtaza Lakkadshah and his brother Shabbir, who own a company, Mustafa Marketing Company Pvt Ltd, later lodged a police complaint.

The duo was heading home with Rs 4.70 lakh, part of their business transactions, on a motorcycle when they were intercepted by unidentified persons between 9.30-10 pm in a narrow lane.

Soon there was a scuffle between the brothers and the robbers, who threw chilli powder mixed in some liquid on the duo, snatched the bag carrying the cash and fled, police said.
