Rs 4 lakh for kin of those killed in Bihar rail tragedy

The kin of those killed in the train tragedy in Bihar today will get Rs four lakh each as ex-gratia relief from the government.

Those injured seriously will get Rs 1.5 lakh each and those with minor injuries will get Rs 20,000 each.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 2 lakh each as ex-gratia relief from the PM's Relief Fund for the kin of those killed in the derailment of Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express at Golden Ganj station near Chapra in Bihar.

An ex-gratia relief of Rs 50,000 has been sanctioned for those seriously injured, a PMO statement said.

"This is in addition to the relief assistance given by the Railways," the statement said.
 

Earlier, Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda announced ex-gratia of Rupees 2 lakh for the kin of each of the deceased, Rupees one lakh for the grievously injured and Rs 20,000 for those with minor injuries.
