Rs 40 cr for providing medicines free of cost in Haryana

Besides, to meet the need of medicines in district hospitals, Civil Surgeons have been empowered to purchase medicines, Health Minister Rao Narender Singh said here today.

He said Haryana Government has given utmost priority to provide health facilities to the people.

For extending the medical facilities in the state, three new medical colleges - Women Medical College, Khanpur Kalan, Kalpana Medical College, Karnal, and Medical College, Mewat - costing Rs 1,000 crore were being set up in the state, he said.

Singh said that with a view to filling up vacant posts of doctors in various hospitals, 439 doctors were being recruited. They included specialists of various diseases.
