The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 469.23 lakh as the second installment for various construction works being done by the Mela Administration, Allahabad, for Kumbh Mela 2019.
Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, said an amount of Rs 280 lakh was sanctioned as the first installment in the financial year 2017-18 against a total expenditure of Rs 530 lakh for construction works.
Of the first installment, Rs 219.23 lakh could not be spent and was surrendered at the end of the financial year, an official release said.
