Two men robbed off in bank queues in Uttar Pradesh

One of the victims had gone to the bank to deposit Rs 47,000 in old currency notes when the money was stolen

Nearly Rs 50,000 in cash were stolen from a man who was standing in a bank queue to deposit his old currency notes in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said on Sunday.

The victim, Satish Kumar, had gone to the bank to deposit Rs 47,000 in old currency notes when the money was stolen, a police official said.

In another incident, Rs 10,000 in new currency notes were stolen from a man who was returning after exchanging old currency notes from a bank in Morna town, the official said.
