Rs 5.5 lakh looted from biz man in northeast Delhi

Three unidentified persons looted Rs 5.5 lakh and scooter of a businessman after sprinkling red chilli powder in his eyes in northeast Delhi's Seemapuri area, police said today.

The incident happened yesterday night when Puneet Kumar (39) was returning home on his scooter from his kirana shop in Old Seemapuri, police said.

He was attacked by three unidentified men with red chilli powder. He lost his balance and fell down and in a matter of few seconds, they took away his scooter that contained Rs 5.5 lakh in cash, a police officer said.

Police is scanning the CCTV footage from the area to gain clues about the culprits and the boys who work at his shop are being questioned in connection with the matter, police said.
