Rs 50 cr heroin smuggled from Pakistan seized

In a big haul, over 10 kilogramme narcotics worth Rs 50 crore in the street market was seized today by the Border Security Force personnel along the Indo-Pak border.

BSF Deputy Inspector General R P S Jaiswal said that the seizure was made early in the morning at Mohinder Post.

The consignment of heroin was wrapped in water proof plastic packets.

Jaiswal said that BSF troops, deployed on border in the area of Border Out Post Mohinder, heard some suspicious sound near security fence.

"The troops heard eight gun shots from the direction of International Boundary. Immediately the area was cordoned off and massive search operation was carried out," the officer said.
 

During the search, 10 packets of heroin worth Rs 50 crore were found inside a plastic pipe, he said.

So far, BSF has seized 322.266 kg heroin this year.
